The Founding Fathers that you reference were not atheists! With the possible exception of Thomas Paine, they were deists.

While we're at it, Spinoza was not an atheist, either. He was a pantheist.

While a celebration of the nation's 250th Anniversary needn't include a drag RACE on the streets of Washington DC, it needn't include a drag SHOW, either! ;-)

Please keep your own dogma to yourself!

You are correct about the deism: I misspoke. But who mentioned Spinoza???

I can’t keep my dogma to myself: what fun would that be?

LOL! No problem!

(As for Spinoza, he's merely another figure frequently (and spuriously) claimed by atheists -- and [believe it or not] even by some Marxists [for ostensibly having made their ideology possible].) ;-)

Meanwhile, at age 76 (and gay, at that), I think I'd skip both the drag race and the drag show -- but if Bob Dylan will do a concert on the Mall, count me in!

To paraphrase Emma Goldman: If it ain't no fun, it ain't my revolution.

To each their own....
