Heather is and always has been fantastic. I would add a couple of thoughts re organizing: one way to boycott is to publicize to college-age women and men the threat they face if they go to college in Texas, and GET THOSE WHO'VE APPLIED TO PULL THEIR APPLICATIONS with a clear message about why they are doing so. So not just sports, entertainment, conference and convention boycotts, but those that will pressure folks with some power (university presidents and trustees). THANKS for this post!

I agree: a boycott of Texas colleges and universities is a terrific step. I wonder how we would activate that? Including it is hard to imagine why a heterosexual college-age woman, in her most fertile years, would risk having no access to abortion. And what is actually heartening about abortion supporters is that many of them are increasingly male--gay men are particularly staunch in their support for the right to choose, a connection that was first forged by feminist activists in ACT-UP, but they really get it about how controlling bodies is about everybody. Imagine a similar law passed against homosexuality, in which SCOTUS re-institutes sodomy laws in a similar way, and empowers your landlord to turn you in.
