Congratulations! To a wonderful career. And yes, academia is dying or is dead. It is not how we can make change and do good in this world. It is about money and power and corruption and politics. You are such a legend and such a positive influence in the world! You have definitely influenced me for the better <3
Claire, I'm only months ahead of you retiring from a "plum" job. As I resigned as president of homeschooling, I said that I'm taking a gap year, a sabbatical. The reality is that in between the rest, recharging, and recreation (and signing up for Medicare), I'd like to find another worthwhile project. Higher ed, like K12, no longer seems satisfactory for many of its clients and employees. Fresh new models... something to think about.
Yes: I actually have something cooking on that fresh new model--which may be part of the next chapter!
You got me the job!
You should join us next week for the finale of this residency in West Philadelphia: https://aydelotte.swarthmore.edu/publications/abolitionist-university-studies/

What a sweet note! Thank you!
Wonderful essay. But I’m still stuck on this: You mean we BOTH worked at Interview???
When--and how--the hell did you get to be 65?!? This is not acceptable.
Also, congratulations 🎊
