This is scary. Yet their own tactics can come back on them. I had stopped watching the news for so long and still only take it in bits and pieces. But what I have seen is the three from Tennessee getting to speak their voice over and over again, calling out and exposing the motivation to win power rather than to work in harmony for the peace that people really want. Even some of the more extreme Trumpists have begun to wonder. But there are too many more that feel like these guys are leading the way for them to set the world straight. It is always easier to find someone else to blame than to look at what the real issues are.
Yes, I agree with you Rachel. I think a lot of these folks have gotten so used to absolute power that they have lost any sense of restraint. And that they will pay for that. Most Americans, whether Republican or Democratic, are quite moderate. Most aren't consciously bigoted. And yet, you tell them vivid lies--about birth control, abortion, queer people, immigrants-- and they will support policies that they aren't affected by. We need tokeep pushing back: online, in the pulpit, one-to-one.
